Christmas music is a tradition among many people and is comprised of a variety of styles and genres. Although many of these songs have been around for many years, the dates provided are of the most popular recorded version. Here are our top five picks, in no order, for best Christmas songs ever made.
1) “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” – Brenda Lee (1958)
This song is good for parties, small gatherings and, as seen in Home Alone, you can get cardboard cutouts and electric toy trains and throw a party all for yourself
2) “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” – Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi (2003)
Seriously, no other song is going to make you turn up (the oven to make cookies for Santa) more than this one!
3) “All I Want for Christmas Is You” – Mariah Carey (1994)
Who doesn’t love a little Mariah Carey around the holidays, then when the time hits, you                                     can even switch to the EXTRA festive version of the song.
4) “Feliz Navidad” – José Feliciano (1970)
Memorize this song and you will be the fun-due of the melting pot this year!
5)  “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” – Gayla Peevey (2011)
This song might sound like a comedic jam, but with the high body temperature, a hippo will definitely save you from hippothermia during the cold months.
