The prom theme is essential to the events planning, energy and experience. Cabell Midlands prom theme this year is Jungle. The entrance to the school will be decorated with rainforest props, completed with a waterfall of streams.
“We narrowed the theme options down to two, and Mr. James made the final call of rainforest, which was his original idea,” junior student council member Tatum True said. “It was not my favorite pick, but I think the decorations will turn out really cool.”
With the theme of rainforest, there are many leads the student council is following to make it a night students in attendance will never forget.
“One of the guys in student council with me, Tanner Brandon, recommended having live animals at prom to replicate a real rain forest,” said True. “Unfortunately, the suggestion was dismissed.”
There are many aspects that go into planning a school dance. For example, they first needed to verify a location; after much debate, it was decided to continue to be held at the school like years past.
“By hosting prom at the school we save a lot of money for decorations, lights, and food,” True said.
Overall, the student council is confident that this will be one of the best prom nights the school has had for a long time, and definitely one to remember.
