As baseball season rolls around once more, Kirk Jennings will take the field for the final time.
As the star third baseman for the Knights, Jennings looks forward to the upcoming spring to put his talent on display and showcase his hard work.
“This season is definitely going to be special,” said Jennings. “Hopefully the hard work we put in during practice translates to success on the field.”
Jennings has had quite the career at Cabell Midland, playing on the school basketball team for two years and the baseball team for four years.
“This year is the year we bring home the championship,” said Jennings. “It’s ring season, and we’re hungry.”
Jennings signed an offer to continue his playing career at Marshall University after high school.
“I’m really looking forward to playing at Marshall,” Jennings said, “but before that happens, I want to help bring a championship to Cabell Midland.”
Jennings provided the Knights with a fantastic batting average, hitting .440 on the year.
“Hitting is something I work on almost every day in the offseason,” said Jennings. “This year I’m hoping to hit over .500, which is going to be a challenge, but I think I can do it.”
The season starts on the first of March, and no one is looking forward to it more than Kirk Jennings. He and the team are putting in work every day to get better.
“It all starts in the offseason,” Jennings told the Medieval Times. “We have to practice the way we want to play every day, and the results should be good.”
With a cloud of optimism surrounding the Cabell Midland baseball team, Kirk Jennings looks to capitalize and bring home a championship.
