Homecoming is this weekend and students around the school are excited to come out and have a good time with their friends. Some students share their thoughts about the event everyone is talking about.

Homecoming is a good opportunity to meet new people, socialize with friends, or spend the evening with that special someone. There are a lot of enjoyable things about the dance, and sophomore Maddie Kazee says she likes seeing her friends the most.

“My favorite part about homecoming is getting to hang out with my friends.” said Kazee.

While homecoming can be a lot of fun, there can also be some downsides to it. Not everyone enjoys going to things like this and some people prefer to stay home or do something else that evening. Some people even say that there is a lot of drama at homecoming, which can cause problems.

“My least favorite part about homecoming is the drama. Sometimes people can be really dramatic.” said Kazee.

A lot of people like to be creative and make it more fun when asking someone to homecoming by making elaborate signs or giving them gifts. Things like this are usually seen one of two ways; cute or cheesy. But no matter how people feel about them, most of them are pretty clever.

“Personally, I think making signs to ask people to homecoming is really cute.” said Kazee.

Many people don’t really know what to expect the first time they go to homecoming. It is so much different from dances in middle school and can be a big transition for some people. It always helps to have a little advice from people who have gone before.

“My advice to someone going for the first time would be, bring some flip flops! After a while, your shoes will really start to hurt.” said Kazee.
