On Friday, August 24 Cabell Midland had their first home football game against St. Albans. Midland crushed them
67-0.

The football game was fun and easy for the team and student section.

“I expected a win because they have been practicing all summer and were pretty good last year,” said freshman Ella Curtis.  “I think Midland played pretty well especially since it was their first game. I expect the same results against Parkersburg this Friday. The team played aggressive and passed the ball well.”

Many students believe that this season will be a lot better than last year.

“This year, Midland seems faster and more aggressive,” said Curtis. “Our new quarterback, senior Jayce Gould, played very well and will take Midland far this season – I expect Midland will be undefeated and possibly win states.”

However, not all Midland students believe the Knights will be as successful.

“I expected a closer game, I did not expect that big of a win but I’ll take it and like it,” said freshman Madyson Handley “I thought Midland played very well, especially since the other team never scored. I predict Midland will mostly have a winning season with maybe one or two losses, but mostly wins.”

These girls seem to have high expectations for Midland this season and so do I. I think Midland will have a great season and will bring the school glory. GO KNIGHTS!!!
