Cabell Midland Football Going Back to the Basics

Hunter Niebergall, Sports

As we know the Knights have got off to a slow start here this season, Cabell Midland will go back to the old offense. Midland has not scored done that bad of a job with the spread, it is just not a consistent offense for the Knights. Jayce Gould has 460 yards through the air and 5 touchdowns. Midland has to change their offense for the simple reason as the best running back in the state Ivan Vaughn is not getting the carries he expected in his senior season as a knight. He was getting carries but that offense is just not a running offense. Last year out of the Wing-T offense Vaughn led the team to many victories. He had two back to back 100 yard rushing seasons. In 2017 he had 1850, in 2016, his sophomore season he had 1898. The coaching staff realized it is time to pound the rock with Ivan Vaughn and younger brother Isaiah Vaughn. Making change to the offense is cornerback JJ Roberts. They want to give him looks to run on the outside in space. The Knights are beginning to use their weapons that they did not use before.
