Steelers Get Huge Win to Snap The Losing Streak

The Steelers coming into Sunday had a heartbreaking losing streak. Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders were trying to end the Steelers Super Bowl dreams by beating them three consecutive weeks. Coming into Sunday, the Steelers were at a must win situation against the New England Patriots. All week Steelers running back James Conner was ruled doubtful due to ankle injury. On Sunday, Connor was ruled out. 5th round draft pick Jaylen Samuels got his second consecutive start. He needed to bounce back after only 28 yards rushing with 11 carries. Samuels is a dual threat player alsi getting catches coming out of the backfield. He had 64 yards through the air against Oakland. They needed a running game to beat New England. On Sunday, Samuels carried the load with 142 yards on the ground, and 30 yards through the air. Steelers second round draft pick, James Washington had the most receiving yards with 65. Juju Smith-Schuster and Antonio Brown only combined for 89 yards. The Steelers needed a 3rd man to come up clutch in this win. Washington stepped up and made couple huge plays in the second half. Ben Roethlisberger had 235 yards passing, with Tom Brady snagging up 279 yards. With a hard December finish for the Steelers, they got a clutch win. Next week, the Steelers will travel to New Orleans to als play a very good football team. “We will enjoy this win, and get back to work Monday afternoon” said Coach Mike Tomlin. Conner should be back for another big game next weekend.
