PSA: Stay Safe This Winter

PSA: Stay Safe This Winter

Zac Backus, Reporter

Here is a PSA for all student drivers: please stay safe this holiday season. If you drive, please go the speed limit or less if necessary. We don’t want any wrecks because of cars swerving around the parking lot, so beware of black ice.

Make sure that your cars are warmed up and all ice is cleared off your windshield before going to school and leaving school, and to go slow in places where a Barboursville or Milton salt truck hasn’t got to yet. And when the ice is melted, you can still hydroplane and slide on the water. A friendly tip is to keep a ice scraper in your car for when you don’t want to wait on your car to melt the ice off. Go slow during turns, because if you don’t you have a huge chance of sliding into a ditch and I don’t think you want your parents will be happy when they have to pay to have it towed and to pay to have it fixed.

Texting and Driving is always dangerous and you should never do it, but it is especially dangerous when the road conditions are bad. We at the Medieval times wish you a safe and careful holiday season.
