In the last tournament of the season for the archery team, coach Jonathan Clemins was pleased to receive a third place win at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School. The team has worked hard throughout the school year to make it to this position and has officially qualified for West Virginia’s State Tournament this month.

“It’s been a pleasure being on this team once again,” says junior, Mckenna Nixon. “I can’t wait for states!”

Not only did the team swipe a third place win, one team captain, Alex Laverty, received 1st place for high school male shooters with a score of 290 out of 300! He was pleasantly surprised to leave the season with this score and is hoping to get a similar score at the state tournament on March 30.

Come out to Marshall on March 30 to support the school’s archery team at their state competition!
