SpaceX is a private company founded by Elon Musk in 2002, it aims to revolutionize space technology, by sending various models and prototypes of spacecraft’s into orbit with the ultimate goal to land people on Mars.

SpaceX successfully achieved the historic first of an orbital class rocket in 2017, and the company now regularly launches flight-proven rockets. In 2018, SpaceX began launching Falcon Heavy, the world’s most powerful operational rocket by a factor of two.

On April 8, 2016, the Falcon 9 rocket launched the Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station, and the first stage returned and landed.

SpaceX has secured over 100 missions throughout its time, these include commercial satellite launches as well as U.S government missions.

For a private company, SpaceX has recorded over 6,000 employees within various positions from: designing, engineering, manufacturing, and operating the spacecraft’s.

Currently, the private company only has three models of spacecraft’s which include: Dragon, Falcon 9, and the newest model, Falcon Heavy.

Commercial Crew Program launched on March 2, 2019 at 2:49 a.m. ET. The Dragon spacecraft successfully docked with the space station ahead of schedule at 6:02 a.m. ET on March 3, 2019, becoming the first American spacecraft in history to autonomously dock with the International Space Station.

The founder of SpaceX, Elon musk, was born in South Africa in 1971, he became increasingly popular and gained more wealth by manufacturing electric cars and started Tesla Motors. Along with Tesla Motors Musk also co-founded the online money transfer system known as PayPal.

As of 2019, the estimated net worth of Elon Musk is around 21.2 billion dollars, and with most of the majority of the money goes into funding SpaceX, and more of his other plans.

Elon Musk continues to work on SpaceX and desires to collaborate with other people around the world to start new ways to revolutionize life and focus on building the future of the world.
