As of new policies both 11th and 10th grade students are required to take 2 days out of their week and give their study hall to test prep. While test prep is increasingly important, it should also be noted that grades in the current education system follow a very influential rhetoric, being treated as the only read of a students full potential. While it is known that this isn’t the case, this is the reality for most students. Due to this shield was a god-send for students who had home lives that took any freetime they were expected to have. Regardless of what these circumstances are, test prep should be in the hands of the testee, and not forced onto them.
