Summer Break

Danielle Hughes, Staff Reporter

Summer break is the time most people love after a long year of school filled drama, loud people, fights, waking up early, and not being able to have fun. In the summer you get to enjoy no work and no bed times. You can stay up all night or go to friends house any time you want for as long as you want. You can also go somewhere or see someone you have not seen in a while. All of these things are great and fun things to do.

This summer my family and I are going to Detroit, Michigan to see my sister, her girlfriend, and her kids. We have not been able to go since I was in middle school because I have been in summer school for the past two years. It’s good to see family, but the thing I’m most excited about is not the sleeping or spending time with family as I am not much of a people person. I’m looking forward to the fun of playing soccer with my nieces and staying up as late as I want and being able to play video games whenever I want. I’ll be able to talk to whoever I want for as long as I want and go to the beach without missing school.

Lillian Bass of ninth grade agrees.

“It’s nice having the freedom without school to do what I want, when I want, for as long as I want without a teacher breathing down my neck.”
