On May 10, 2019, the Cabell Midland Archery Team headed to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the NASP Eastern Nationals tournament.

263 high school teams entered this competition and Midland’s team came out in 85th place. The team not only set many high scores for each member, including some of the newest members Carlie Arkell, Ramiro Jiminez, and Tyler Deal, they were set for the team as a whole. With a new personal team record 3308 out of 3600 possible points, the team is on fire.

“Our goal was to hit 3300 before Buckhannon Upshur,” said coach Jonathan Clemins, “and that’s exactly what we accomplished.”

The team is excited to have participated in this tournament. They have plans of celebrating by taking a team trip to King’s Island soon. Best of luck next year in their endeavors!
