Senior Year

The start of the new school year means it’s the final year of high school for the seniors at Midland.

Senior year is an important year in every student’s life as it leads to the transition from childhood to adulthood. Many people are excited to graduate and leave school behind while others aren’t quite as ready.

“I’m ready to graduate because I’m ready for change, but I’m also not ready to go to college. I don’t want to grow up,” said senior Meredith Mears.

For people who are just starting their freshman year, graduation can seem really far away, but they should make the most of their high school years while it lasts.

“The advice I would give to freshmen would be to enjoy your time and take the classes you want. Also try to make new friends, go to football games, or maybe join an after school activity,” said Mears.

There are a lot of things for seniors to look forward to this year like their last Homecoming, Prom, Spirit Week, Color Day, and other events.

“I’m looking forward to having a great school year and I’m going to try to go to Homecoming this year,” said Mears.
