The Cabell Midland Archery season is soon to begin. The first few practices, starting September 17th, are strictly for previous members; after our the first tournament on September 28th, the team will have a parent/student meeting in E-123 to welcome any new recruits. On September 7th, a few of the team members will be going to local businesses asking if they’d like to sponsor the team. This will help the archery team tremendously!

Every Tuesday and Friday, the team stays after school from 3:15-5:30 and goes to the barn (by the football fields). Once they get into the barn, they start setting up the targets, bow, and arrows. For the first few practices, they take things slow for all of the new archers. They also like to have a few fun trips in-between tournaments, for the past two years, they have gone paintballing. They have also been bowling, and to conclude last year they went to Kings Island. The tournaments are on weekends, generally Saturdays, and they take a bus to and from; depending on the times and/or how far away the tournament is, they will stop along the way for food.

Archery is for everyone, freshmen to senior, tall or short, girl or boy; so if you are looking for a fun extra-curricular activity – archery is for you!
