The Phoenix Suns have gotten off to an unexpected great start to the 2019-2020 NBA season. Last year they had the second worst record in the league, but now have looked like a really good team. The biggest part of their recent success has came from there new head coach Monty Williams. Monty has been coaching since 2005, this is his first head coach job.

Through the first seven games of the NBA season the Suns have went 5-2. Even them beating the 76ers last night, 10/4/19, and before the 76ers were the only team in the NBA that were undefeated. Even though 76ers center Joel Embiid didn’t play due to suspension, this is still a big win for the Suns.

The Suns have also beat one of the favored teams, The Los Angeles Clippers. The two games that they have lossed to has been to the Denver Nuggets and the Utah Jazz. They’ve only lost by one point to both of those teams.

The Suns are doing this good even without the number one draft pick from last year DeAndre Ayton. He was suspended for 25 games dud to the NBA drug policy.

The star player for the Suns has been Devin Booker. He is averaging 26.1 points per game. Other players like Kelly Oubre Jr., Tyler Johnson, and new members like Ricky Rubio and Aron Baynes have had a big impact on the game.

The Suns hope to do this good year out and make a push to make the postseason for the first time since 2010.
