Jrue Holiday on the Trade Market?

Dean Neal, Reporter

The pelicans have not had the season that was expected. It’s December and the number one overall pick Zion Williamson has yet to play yet in the NBA.

The Pelicans are 6-22, and they’re 14th in the Western Conference.

Their leader Jrue Holiday might be about to be traded. He’s having a great year averaging 19.5 points, 5 rebounds, 6.8 assist, and 1.7 steals. Holiday is 29 years old but he could be getting traded.

The reason he could be getting traded is since the pelicans are having a bad season Jrue might want to go to a contending team.  Holiday is under contract until 2021 with a $27 million player option for 2021-22. But since they are rebuilding their team around Zion they might have to trade him.

The top five teams that would be a good destination for him are the Heat, Bucks, Nuggets, Timberwolves, and the Trailblazers.

We don’t know yet whether the Pelicans are actually gonna traded Jrue, but they’re taking offers.
