Winfield Archery Tournament

The weekend of January 18th, the Cabell Midland Archery Team went to Winfield for their second annual tournament. This tournament was closer to home than some of the previous places the team has been. The team as a whole has not been to Winfield before and it was a great experience.

Overall, the team placed in second for the high school division and three students placed as individuals. The students are progressing well and are excited to hopefully be a part of States and Nationals. In order to go to Nationals or States, only 24 members of the team can participate, while the others cheer them on.

Due to only being allowed 24 archers at States and Nationals, coach Jonathan Clemins has limited 24 people in particular to participate in Tuesday practices. These are practices for those who are willing to put in the effort to be better than the rest and just want to have fun while competing but serious enough to win.

All in all, the team was pleased with how they did at the Winfield Middle School Archery Tournament and some have more opinions than others about the new way Tuesday practices are being held but together as a team anything is possible.
