9/11 19 Years Stronger

Nathan Stephens

It has been nineteen years since since one of Americas worst tragedies struck us. It began in the early morning in New York when terrorist hijacked planes and crashed them into the World Trade Centers and near other government buildings. It was a day of horror for our country. There are some moments in history that if you experienced it you remember where you were or even get chills from thinking about it. This was one of those moments. Nearly 3,000 people died in an awful act of violence and terror against our fellow human beings.

If you talk to anyone they remember this date and what happened and probably have the image from the news engraved into their brain. It’s one of those things that can’t slip from our mind. It was a day of heartbreak and we did our fair share of crying and hurting but we knew that we had to come together. Out of all this sadness we saw hope with the passengers of flight 93 when they fought back for their lives and for the lives of the people that may not of survived if the plane was to crash.

There is one thing beautiful that comes after a tragedy like that. No matter who we are or what we look like we come together and we support one another. They thought that their attack would tear us apart or depress us but it made us stronger as a nation and community no matter your race or creed etc. We stood together and we went after those awful people. People volunteered for the military because they wanted to help out and do their part. Those terrorist walked the earth without a heart, but they forgot that America has more heart than you could possibly imagine. America is America and good people are good people and we will always find a way.
