Freshman SAT

Freshman SAT

Jessina Stender, Reporter

As a freshman myself, I have yet to take the SAT test. First off, SAT stands for Scholastic Assessment Test, though its name has changed various times in the past. The SAT tests you on your readiness for college, it provides colleges with the a common data point that is used to compare all applicants. The SAT is divided into two sections which are the evidence-based reading and writing and math. The evidence-based reading and writing is comprised of two tests, one focused on reading and one focused on writing and language.

The SAT also scores you on different levels. The best score a student can get is around the range of 1120-1600 meaning above average. Any score below 600 in below average. You are also put into different percentiles according to your scores.

All freshman are required to take the SAT on this upcoming Wednesday on October 21, 2020 to 8 AM to 2 PM. Make sure to get a good nights rest and don’t overthink things, hope it goes well for everyone taking the SAT!!
