Cabell Midland students can be very romantic when Valentine’s Day rolls around.

Dear Devin Stapleton,

My big secret is… I have a HUGE crush on you, but that’s not a secret anymore, to a point. My feelings are probably one-sided, and I fear the animosity I would receive if I were to express my thoughts about you. I really love the songs you write; they’re downloaded on every device I own. Maybe one day, when the age gap doesn’t seem like such a big deal, I’ll make my move. Until then, I’ll continue to listen to your music; I’ve listened to them all like 100 times!!

Dear Chris Camp,

Well first off, you’re adorable and your laugh is one of the best things to hear. Seeing you smile, simply causes others to fill with joy. Your eyes are another thing that make you impossible to ignore; they are beautiful and it’s difficult to focus on anything else. Soon enough, the football games I’d neglected going to in the past became a constant Friday night event, and your passion for the game wasn’t hard to miss. It’s part of what makes you who you are. Happiness is a natural aura around you, and it’s an everlasting thing. Just a glimpse of you could brighten anyone’s day… especially mine.

Dear Jacob Morrison,

You are perfect. The light in your eyes makes the stars look like specs of nothingness. Your smile would make even the most powerful men fall to their knees. Your laugh is the sound of a million angels all singing the same tune. Your looks make even the most beautiful creatures in the universe look like nothing. Your voice could tame the mightiest of lions. Your personality is warm and makes me smile on my darkest days. Your perfect imperfections are beautiful to me. When you smile at me, I feel like the most important person in the world. Just the way you exist is enough to make me happy.

Dear Carl Bias,

I have to admit, I admire the way you move about the world with care and joyfulness. Don’t let it surprise you that you have a secret admirer; it’s just to let you know how much I see in you. Your eyes are the fire that light my way. I love the way you respect yourself and those around you. You are an amazing person and an inspiration to many. I hope you accept these compliments with a sense of well-deserved pride. Your creativity and many talents attract people like a magnet. You are selfless and smart. In many ways you are perfect, without a doubt.

Dear Josh Shively,

A poem from my favorite author, Christopher Poindexter.

“I am yours. I am yours as the stars belong to the sky and I am yours as the rivers belong to the sea. I am yours as your tears belong to your eyes and I am yours as your lungs belong to the pattern in which you breathe.”

Dear Kaitlynn Jobe,

You’re a beautiful, funny girl and every year with you is amazing! Seeing you makes everyday better because you always make people smile and laugh. I’m so happy I was able to meet you. Love you and hope you have a great year.

Dear Sarah Gue,

I love how quiet you are, and you’re secretly one of the funniest people ever. You’re always laughing and you have a beautiful smile on your face. Love you so much. Stay weird.

Dear Tatum Olivia True,

Tatum, oh Tatum. Your smile makes my heart jitter. Oh Tatum, dear Tatum, The vineyard vines you wear makes my heartbeat climb. Tatum, oh Tatum, My love for you is like your love of Grab-n-go chicken biscuits. Oh Tatum, my Tatum, your face makeup is always on point, it makes my heart skip a beat. Oh Tatum, my Tatum, the length of your hair makes me melt. And Tatum, my Tatum, my love for you is forever lasting.

Dear Tanner Myers,

Valentine’s Day isn’t all about love, but about time together that we share. Isn’t love shown by sending a dove, know whatever happens, I’ll always care. Valentine’s Day is all about candy. But, however, I didn’t buy you any. I care about you cause you’re so dandy. I hope one day you have very many. I’m trying not to be very sappy. I will show my love till the very end. But your smile makes me all so happy, and remember you’re always my best friend. I will love you till the day I turn grey, have a very happy Valentine’s Day.

Dear Evan Fleshman,

I have always thought you were a cool cat. Thanks for always putting me down in science last year, when I wouldn’t know the answer; it actually made me work harder.

Dear Bree Ring,

I love you so much! You are beautiful, funny, smart and you know how to hold your own. You make me smile every time I see you because you always know how the right things to say. Any time I need to talk to someone, you are always the first in line to hold my hand and make me smile.

Dear Reanna Devore,

You are my best friend and other half, literally. We are the same person. It’s absolutely terrible that we don’t have any classes together. Without you, I’m just half of nobody. P.S. that weather though.

Dear Logan Ward,

Your smile sorta brightens my day. You’re sarcastic, mean and way too honest. However, you are all colors at full brightness.

Dear Ethan Music,

Just being in your company makes my heart skip a beat. The way you make me laugh lights up my life and your smile is the only drug for me. I absolutely love being beside of you. When I look at you, all my fears fade away and my heart starts to soar. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Dear Paula Ames,

I love my Bae. I’m never gonna stop loving you. Paula, my heart stops, especailly when you take all of my food. I will always go hungry for you. I love the way you share your homework with me, because I would never do it on my own. Thanks for loving me. Please, always keep your promise to be my wife one day. I’ll even consider changing my last name to Ames. From this day on, I promise myself to you. English class isn’t the same; I miss our laughter.

Dear Quinn Robertson,

Your face lights up the world like a thousand exploding suns. Your constant use of sarcasm and bitterness is a work of true majesty and grace. With constant reference to overused and uninspired jokes you find on the internet, it’s impossible to think of a better joke teller. Every switch in your clothes enhances your beauty in ways unfathomable to man. Your shiny soul-filled eyes are like a portal to a dimension of endless bliss. We are destined to be together.

Dear Jessica Burcham,
You fill my heart with feelings of love. Your face is that of an angel. Let’s run away together and get married. We will live in the mountains and chop trees down to build a cabin. We can both grow beards to keep warm. I can buy you stuff too. I have $14 in my bank account. I hope you look into your heart and realize I’m the best guy you’ll ever have.  If you don’t love me back, it’s okay, but it is your loss. I want to spend my life raising sheep with you. You can name the girls, and I’ll name the boys. I love you, bye.
P.S Can I borrow some gas money?

Dear Cintry Johnson,
If you were my girl, and I was Meek Mill, and I was on world tour, it wouldn’t be a world tour, it would be your tour. I want you to be the Gwen to my Blake, or the Kanye to my Kim, it killed me to see you with him. I wish you would get some sense and quit making me so tense. I wish you were always mine, like there will always be green on pine. Ily bae, be mine <3.

Dear Caperton Humphrey,

So listen. You’re cute. Period. You can also be one goofy individual. You’re always cracking jokes and that’s one thing that makes you so pleasant to be around. Your smile is as bright to me as headlights are to a deer, and I have pretty much the same reaction when it is aimed in my direction. I don’t think I’d ever witnessed someone be so confident that nothing bothered them, until I met you. The way you carry yourself makes me feel some kind of way. Thanks for being who you are, although it makes me mad that there aren’t more people like you in the world. Thanks for being a pal.

Dear love of my life,
It’s been six months since I bumped into you on your front porch. It was a strange coincidence that we would meet each other on your front porch… almost like it was our destiny to be together. I know you did not mean to block my number, I am sure it was an accident. I got a new number to call you with. I know you spotted me parked outside your house at four in the morning, I was not stalking you, just making sure you were safe. I hope your restraining order does not mean that we cannot still be friends. I know you will come around someday.

Dear Donald Trump,
Oh how the wisps of blonde hair that sit upon your head start a fire in my heart. How the spit-fire of politics that leave your mouth inspire me day in and day out. Your face, always showing such expressive emotion, is permanently imprinted in the crevices of my mind. At night I lay, wondering and hoping for the day that we can finally be together. Together, we can rule the world. Together, we can make America great again. Oh Trump, my Trump, how I love you so. It isn’t the money that has caught my attention, but the beautiful soul that rests within you. We can’t let the social classes that rest beneath us create a divide for the love we could have. We can’t let the opinions of the heathens hold us back from what could be our true and beautiful potential. Donald, you are the only one my heart can hold. You trump my poor, poor soul with every sexist, homophobic and racist comment that leaves your beautiful lips. You are the only one for me. Be mine Trump, be mine for the eternity to come.

Dear Ethan Todd,
“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height.
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old grief, and with my childhood faith
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saint, I love the with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! And if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.” –Elizabeth Barrett Browning
